BASIC DESCRIPTION;
Charlotte is quite petite for a girl her age, standing at four feet eleven inches and weighing a hundred and five pounds. She has fair skin, round face with a pointed chin, and an eye color the shades of crisp autumn leaves falling from trees. Her hair is dirty blonde, sometimes seen ginger, and with hair length being medium long and wavy, she usually braids it into her head's left side, if not too lazy to do so. Otherwise, she'd just comb a little and wear it just like that, or maybe, she'd add some accessories.
Most of the time, Charlie prefers to wear clothes that are comfortable to her compared to the fashionable ones. She'd rather not be in the spotlight because if so, she'd feel very uncomfortable and self-conscious. Her favourite clothing includes dresses and cardigans, sweaters and turtlenecks. One would seldom find her wear any bright neon colors, because, as said, she'd rather not attract too much attention and would rather be in the shadows being cozy. Wearing mostly dark, other times pastel colors, makes her feel comfortable and safe somewhat. Charlotte doesn't wear high-heels; not that she doesn't know how to wear them, rather, she dislikes them and thinks they don't go along well with her fashion style very much. Plus, her parents thinks high-heels would only make her walk awkwardly. However, at times, her mother especially, would change her mind about the matter and thinks that she'd better off wearing high-heels as it'd make her look taller and more graceful and elegant.
Additionally, Charlie has a tiny black moon and star tattoo with the moon placed on her left and the latter on her right wrist.

PERSONALITY OVERVIEW;
At first glance, Charlotte may seem a bit withdrawn and eccentric due to her strange beliefs, and even more — especially if one does not understand her circumstances — her troublesome ocd. She has her own rituals, the things she has to do whether she likes it or not. Otherwise, her mind would bother her and she'd feel as though her head would explode because her mind tells her this and her body tries to avoid doing what her mind ordered her to do. It drives her crazy at times. She might be a little hard to get along with when one first get to know her. However, once she feels comfortable speaking to them, she'd begin to open up and reveal the friendly and loving person she had always been. Although good-natured, calm and collected at most times, Charlie can get a little odd. She does not speak very much as she thinks that she'd blabber and make her conversation partner sick and tired of listening to her stories. Due to her being self-conscious, one can often find Charlie alone sketching and painting, doing her own thing, her mind drifting somewhere else. She can also get a little too forgetful, sensitive and curious for her own good. She tries to be as normal as possible, just like the rest of the college girls, but no matter how much she tries, Charlie would always fail.

BASIC HISTORY;
"They're just stories, Charlie darling, my lovey-dove," was what her mother would say each and every time the girl confessed that she believes in fairy tales.
As a little girl, Charlotte used to hear stories from her grandmother, Ismay. Lots and lots of stories, particularly of the creatures residing in Beyul Valley. Granny Ismay used to tell her stories of beasts roaming the valley once night falls. She said if Charlie plays outside when it's dark, she'd get kidnapped by these horrible creatures, eaten or trapped and raised up in the scary Underworld forever, never to see the light ever again. She said if she's a good girl and plays in the forest only when the sun is out, the fairies would take care of her, from her first step out of house to the forest and from the forest and back. She said her mother, Marie Anne, is actually a mermaid with a very beautiful appearance and voice, keeping the family safe and sound with her magical powers that fends off the evil beings from coming to the house to do harm to any of the family members.
Growing up with such stories being told, Charlie believes rather strongly in the tales that Granny Ismay used to tell her. She believes that there are beasts lurking in the valley in the darkness, believes that fairies kept her safe when she played in the forest with her younger sister — Alyssa — when they were children, and more importantly, believes that her mother is actually a mermaid in disguise, protecting the family from harm.
That sounds very ridiculous, doesn't it? But that was the result for telling the young girl too many stories that it influenced her in many ways. Furthermore, Charlie believes that her mother is a mermaid because her mother, Marie Anne, is truly still beautiful, elegant and graceful although she is at her forties. The beauty that she has when she was younger remained still, lingering and making her seem as though she actually is immortal, although in reality, she is not. Also, Marie Anne helps her two daughters drift into a good night sleep with her beautiful voice, which causes her eldest daughter, Charlotte, to believe even more in the fairy tales she was told.
Marie Anne would always remind Charlie that these fairy tales aren't real, that the creatures Granny Ismay used to tell her are nothing more than just creatures that exist only in stories. Charlie would say that she still believes them anyway, as there was no solid evidence to prove that they do not. Until there is evidence founded, she would hold strongly in this belief of hers. When she tells this to her mother, Marie Anne would grunt, say that her child is dreaming too much. She'd ask Charlie to stop being lazy and do some actual work; like helping her father and Alyssa at the maize farm at Granny Ismay's place of residence. Granny Ismay lives nearby the mountains, far away from Xanadu, however, only a few miles away from Charlie's house.
Before Charlie was born, and before her parents even lived in Beyul Valley, her grandfather from her father's side whose name was Bastien was the one who founded Beyul Valley. He was a traveller, travelled many places in the world with his son, Charles, who is Charlie's father. Being an experienced old man, he once climbed the mountains that hid Beyul Valley from the eyes of the world. It seemed peaceful, and beautiful from the view from the mountains. And peaceful and beautiful it was indeed, and it still is to this day. Beyul Valley attracted Bastien — he had always wanted to live somewhere peaceful, unlike the place he used to live before which was always busy and suffocating him.
Bastien invited Charles and his six siblings to move out and live in Beyul Valley, however, only Charlie's father was interested. The rest of his children ignored Bastien, and so he left them to make their own decisions. He moved to Beyul Valley with his wife, Aurora, and the middle child, Charles. As expected, the family preferred to live in the valley and thus, settled down somewhere near the mountains.
When Charles was in his twenties, he went out of the valley to remember how it felt like in the outside world. There, he met a woman, a woman so beautiful and kind. The woman, who went by the name Marie Anne, then became the wife of Charles. Marie Anne followed her husband, and moved out to Beyul Valley with her parents and three younger sisters. Soon, her siblings had to move out of the valley as they were all married and had to take care of their own family. Only Marie Anne and her parents stayed in the valley. In the first year, Marie Anne's parents, Ismay and Hector began farming. They had quite a large land, grew corns with the help of Bastien and Aurora, and sold them to get money. In the year Marie Anne was pregnant with her first child, Charlotte, a month before Charlie was born, Hector passed away. Living all alone, Hector's wife who is Charlie's Granny Ismay, would often be accompanied by the young girl Charlie.
They would often take care of the maize farm along with Bastien, Aurora and Charles. Until, one day, Bastien became ill and eventually passed away. The wives of the two men then lived together in order for them to not get lonely as their husbands had left them. It was young Charlie's idea for them to live together, otherwise, living alone would be not only lonely but troublesome. If anything happened, no one would know. By living together, they can watch over each other. Charlie's parents considered the idea and Aurora moved to Ismay's house. There, they lived alongside each other. After the arrival of Marielle Alyssa, Charlie's younger sister who was born five years later after she was, Aurora passed away due to natural causes. Granny Ismay was then left to live alone in her house until today. However, she became too old to be able to take care of the corn farm outside. As a result, Charlie would often visit and help.
That was when she was told these fairy tales. Vampires, werewolves, fairies, mermaids, witches, demons, and even creatures like centaurs and jinns, which Charlie is most curious of besides fairies, mermaids and witches. Every time she comes to visit Granny Ismay, she would be told these stories after helping her with the farm outside. Charlie would often come with her father and Alyssa. Her mother would be absent due to the housework she had to tend to at most times. While the three do their specific tasks at the farm, Granny Ismay would bake them cookies, sometimes cupcakes. She'd bring delicious homemade food for them to enjoy around early evening as a reward for helping her with the farm. After finishing the work, her father and Alyssa would go home. However, Charlie would often plead to her father to let her stay for the night at Granny Ismay's. This was because she wants to listen to Granny Ismay's stories. And that was how she grew too attached to them and believed them to be more than just stories, like what her mother used to say.
Now that she noticed that her granddaughter had become a young lady of the age of eighteen and already studying in college, Granny Ismay stopped telling Charlie the fairy tales she used to tell her. She thought it would interfere with her busy life. Although Granny Ismay seldom reads the stories anymore, Charlie still held her strong belief for the creatures' existence. Their existence was interesting to her, and she'd like to know more.
Perhaps everyone who resides in Beyul Valley must've known of the strange events that happen occasionally. However, most would turn a blind eye to the matter. As for Charlie however, things are different. She likes to pay attention to the little details, get entangled into mysteries even though she knew that they might bring her trouble. But she couldn't help it. She'd like to think of herself as a detective at times. With sparkling eyes, she'd try to know more, to fill in the blanks, the holes, in Granny Ismay's stories. Often, she finds herself one of those people who look a little too hard at Beyul Valley.
TRIVIA;
- charlotte suffers from ocd.
- she hates onions, thinks its yucky and makes a face when any is nearby.
- although she may be quite skillful in farming, she ultimately dislikes tending to the corns at the farm.
this is mostly because she has been helping her parents and granny ismay with growing them at her
grandmother's. she'd normally get one or two mealies from granny ismay, but she still dislikes doing
the work as she has been fed up by seeing the corns all her life. - her parents keeps her away from rivers, lakes, and such. this leads to charlie sometimes daydreaming
about herself being a mermaid. believing that her mother is one although she really isn't, she dreams
that maybe she could be one as well. she knew that she isn't a mermaid, but she'd dream about it anyway.
this is because she feels calm when she's in the water, and although she may not look like it, charlie is
a pretty good swimmer despite rarely doing the sport.
ALIAS; Mirabelle
OTHER; I don't really have experience in roleplaying in forums such as this one, so I ask for forgiveness in advance if I did anything wrong. However, although not having any experience at all in roleplaying in forums like this, I do have four years of experience in roleplaying in other forums that are, perhaps, slightly different from these kinds, and tumblr. Well, this is just a heads up, I guess?
RP EXAMPLE;
5:36AM; Not that she wanted to wake up this early in the morning, but like it or not, she had to because she could swear that she heard a loud noise coming from downstairs. Her eyes were only half open, her vision still blurry. However, this was no time to sleep as the noise could mean anything. It may still be early, but... what if, Granny Ismay tried to make breakfast on her own for the two of them and made a huge mess in the kitchen? What if she slipped and fell? And maybe even accidentally hit her head? Now those thoughts weren't going to disappear and let her sleep peacefully anytime soon — not until she gets up and go downstairs to check what was the cause of the noise that she heard just a few seconds ago, at least.
Sleepily getting off her bed and putting on her fluffy slippers, Charlie made her way to the door, turned around the handle and began walking towards the kitchen downstairs, yawning twice as she called for her grandmother. She pushed the door open to see if Granny Ismay really was trying to make them breakfast. Much to her surprise, nobody was in the kitchen. Now Charlie managed to fight the desire to sleep, strange thoughts began to flood her mind. "Granny Ismay...?" she called again, taking a step and then two and three into the kitchen.
Nobody answered, nobody was there.
But Charlie was positively positive that she heard a loud noise coming from downstairs.
Thinking that Granny Ismay might be somewhere else besides the kitchen downstairs, she checked the living room, the toilet, the reading room filled with racks of books — but Granny Ismay was nowhere to be found.
Worry started to take over her mind as Charlie found out that her grandmother was nowhere downstairs. Realizing this, she quickly ran upstairs and to Granny Ismay's room. She didn't knock, too worried and terrified to bother knocking. As soon as she arrived, Charlie took a peek in to the room and — thank goodness, Granny Ismay was sleeping, safe and sound, in her room. Charlie tiptoed to her grandmother's side to examine; she was then proved that everything was fine with her grandmother.
Knowing this, Charlie's eyes began to feel heavy again. She was beginning to feel sleepy again.
She walked to her room, threw herself on her comfortable bed. She was about to continue her sleep, but then her thoughts had to interfere; If Granny Ismay is sleeping, what was that sound earlier? Maybe she shouldn't think too deeply about this looking at the time, because, early in the morning when the skies outside were still dark with no ray of sunlight visible, who knows what it could be?
